Kachin Tribal Duwar Tunic from Northern Myanmar
Kachin Tribal Duwar tunic woven with wool, cotton and dye with natural roots, barks and other plant dyes. This was a piece worn by a higher ranking tribal leader. This shirt is over 100 years old. It has some wear and damage but for a piece of textile to have lasted this long in the tropical environment of Myanmar-Burma is incredible in itself.
