New Guinea Carved Face from Tambanum Village

Small but a very unique piece. A carved face made of a very dense wood. Eyes are cowry shells and has carved back that resemble a skull rack. Obviously resembling a trophy head on display. Collected in the 90's on the Middle Sepik in the Tambanum Village in the Middle Sepik region of New Guinea. 13 inches long and 7 inches wide.
