Palma Chunchu Tinquiska.- This design is typical of the native peoples of the Amazon jungle. Palma Chunchu is a variation on a traditional Q'ero pattern in which the pared figures symbolize the union of two people. Entirely hand woven in three colors of naturally dyed wool and used to mark special occasions such as weddings or to join together two souls.
Ichu inti.- The sun (known as Itni in Quechua) is a deity revered by the Incas, and still remains of great importance in the traditions of the Q'ero community. It is represented here in this tri-color geometric pattern made up of a large and small diamonds, with radiating lines inspired by the thorns of the local Inchu plant.
